Titus 3:15

Everyone with me sends you greetings. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.

It is always important to encourage those around us.

Titus 3:14

Today is Tuesday, so begin by reviewing Titus 1 & 2.

Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives.

What are we supposed to devote ourselves to doing?

Titus 3:13

Today is Monday, so begin by reviewing Psalm 1.

Do everything you can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way and see that they have everything they need.

Again, nothing more is known about Zenas the lawyer.
Apollos was an outstanding teacher of Scripture who was converted to Christianity after only being acquainted with John the Baptist`s teaching, through the work of Priscilla and Aquila (Acts 18:24-28)
How are you helping the body of believers around you?

Titus 3:12

Titus 3:12
As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to winter there. 

Who are Artemas and Tychicus?  Nothing more is known about Artemas (other than Paul`s confidence in him).  Tychicus was a "a dear brother, a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord" (Colossians 4:7) and he accompanied Paul from Corinth to Asia Minor (Acts 20:4), carried Paul`s letter to the Colossians (Col 4:7) and possibly his letter to Ephesus (Ephesians 6:21)


Are you a dear brother/sister?  Are you faithful?  Are you a fellow servant of the Lord?  

Titus 3:11

Titus 3:11
You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

Who is self-condemned?
Who is responsible for his ungodly behaviour?

Titus 3:10

Titus 3:10
Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him.

What is a divisive person?  (see previous verse)
How should a divisive person be dealt with?
Are you committed to not become a divisive person?

Titus 3:9

Titus 3:9
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.

What are we to avoid?
Why?

Titus 3:8

Titus 3:8
This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

This verse is a little longer than our previous ones.  Take it line by line as you`re committing it to memory.

What is trustworthy?
What are we to stress?
Why?
What is excellent and profitable and for whom?

Titus 3 review

Today is Tuesday, so start by reviewing Titus 1 & 2.

We`re going to take a mid-point break today, so spend today also reviewing the first seven verses of Titus 3.

¹ Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, ² to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.

 ³ At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

How are we justified?  By works or by grace?  By us or by Him?
What is a result of this justification?

Who was poured out on us? (from the previous verse)
And through whom was this possible?

Memorizing the Word of God is fantastic - but we need to meditate on what we are memorizing in order for it to truly penetrate our hearts and minds.

Titus 3:5

Titus 3:5
he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit

Who saved us?
What is not one of the reasons He saved us?
Why did He save us?
How did He save us?

Titus 3:4

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,

Satan personifies evil enslavement.  What does God personify?
Who is our Saviour?

Who/what are we not supposed to be enslaved by?
What does enslavement look like?

¹ You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. ² Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.

 ³ Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. ⁴Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, ⁵ to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
